I don’t really know why I’m writing, I don’t have anything to say, really, but it feels good to tell someone what I’m thinking.
Oh, but before we get into that, I just want to say: my mom is going through a rough spot right now, since she’s trying something really hard that she’s never done before, and her confidence has taken a knock right now, so send her your best wishes, guys…… She can use the support.
Anyway, on to what I’m thinking. I’m working on a short story at the moment, told in diary entries. If I finish it, I think I’ll post it on the blog. Let me know if you’d like that. However, at the moment I’m kind of stuck. It’s not that I don’t know what to do, I just can’t make it sound right.
You see, my story is about vampires. That’s all I’m going to say so that I don’t spoil it, but I will also say that it is set in the 19th century. No New Age sparkling stuff, thank you very much. (But that’s a story for another time- I don’t have time to go into all the differences between the New Age and the Old World vampire factions.)
I’m basically adapting a novel from the 19th century and changing up the perspective a little bit. Like, changing the protagonist and antagonist, etc. My plot involves vampire hunters and two female heroines, as well as a lot misogyny and possibly quite a lot of vampires. Like, an entire clan.
I can’t say much more than that, so that I don’t spoil it. This whole idea started because I did a monologue by Countess Dracula for drama class, and I totally loved it. It gave me the best idea for a story, so I started writing. I’ve done this before, with a Sherlock Holmes inspired story, which I also think I’m going to post on the website. Everyone who’s read it said it was really good, so….
See, that’s the problem with being a writer: you always second guess your writing because you’re always seeing things that you think could have been better. It’s like having to trust your friends about how you look because you have no reflection in the mirror. (Vampire humor, sorry.)
So that’s more or less what’s going on right now, and you have a short story or two to look forward to. I hope you have a good day, guys.
Bye,
Grace
